Partners for Rural Impact
Partners for Rural Impact is a national nonprofit supporting rural communities to build local solutions that put young people on a path to economic mobility. Our work began more than 30 years ago with a place-based partnership in Appalachian Kentucky, and today we partner with rural leaders and allies across the country to advance opportunity for all 14 million rural young people.

Dreama Gentry
CEO / President
Born and raised in Appalachian Kentucky, Dreama founded Partners for Rural Impact to ensure where you come from doesn't determine how far you go. She designed the nation's first rural Promise Neighborhood and a rural-focused Full-Service Community School model, and is an Annie E. Casey Fellow and a Harvard By All Means Senior Fellow.

Penny helps lead a national movement, for rural, with rural, to ensure young people across America are on a path to economic mobility. She brings more than two decades of leadership experience in finance, strategy, and operations, helping steward an average of $50 million annually in funding to support evidence-backed models that improve outcomes from cradle to career.

Executive Vice President
Jane leads a team advancing place-based partnerships by centering local leadership, strengthening the capabilities of rural leaders and aligning systems across education, workforce and health. A teacher and anthropologist, she spent 25 years in federal service at the U.S. Department of Education focused on strengthening school and community partnerships.

Vice President of Strategic Initiatives
Shane's work focuses on ensuring more young people have the ability to chart their own destiny by ensuring their communities have the programs, resources and aligned systems needed to put all young people on a path to economic mobility. He began his career at Save the Children, where he rose to oversee rural early childhood, education, health and nutrition programs across the U.S.

He spent nearly three decades in public education as a teacher, principal and superintendent in rural school districts, and today supports leaders across the organization to expand opportunities so rural students and families can thrive.
